Biography[]
Pilot[]
B. D. is first mentioned as her mother, Bette Davis, returns home from a night of work in her Broadway show, The Night of Iguana. Bette enters her house and calls for B. D., but instead of receiving an answer, she spots a note from her daughter sitting on her desk. The note reads that B. D. has decided to go to her friend Claire's house for the weekend.
B. D. is then seen with her mother as the two walk on to the Baby Jane set for the first time. Bette immediately notices that Joan has given gifts to all the crew members, and she makes a comment to B. D. that Joan always does this to suck up to get better lighting and props. However, B. D. suggests that maybe she is only trying to be nice.
Later on, Bette is in her dressing room with B. D., rummaging through her clothes and wigs to find the perfect look for her "Baby Jane" character, as B. D. sits on the couch reading a magazine. Bette finally assembles her outfit, before powdering her face with white foundation and putting on heavy red lipstick, making herself look deranged. B. D. looks on in judgment and disgust and asks her mother if that's really how she wants to present herself. However, Bette responds with a laugh and tells her to "just wait".
